Rod co-founded Scottish band Idlewild in 1995 and over an illustrious career spanning nearly 25 years the band has had several top 10 albums and singles with EMI, Sanctuary records, Cooking Vinyl and lately their own label “Empty Words”.
Learning to record the bands demos and b-sides Rod developed an interest in Production and engineering, recording and producing for other artists alongside his own solo project “The Birthday Suit” and Idlewild’s 8th and 9th studio albums “Everything Ever Written”  and “Interview Music”.  With the opening of Post Electric Studio in Leith alongside his business partner Kris Pohl in 2016 Rod became a full time producer and mixer and has worked with a vast array of artists both local and international.  
Rod specialises in creative production and working with artists to find and develop their sound and material.
